Boxing club UK - Cudworth Barnsley South Yorkshire Hard and Fast ABC Fred Gummerson formed the Grimethorpe Boxing Club in 1978, Fred and his wife Barbara run the club as Grimethorpe Boxing Club until 1996, they then changed the name to Grimethorpe and Cudworth Hard and Fast ABC. The club is situated in Cudworth on the outskirts of Barnsley. Martin Utley joined the club in year 2000, Martin is now the National Coach (North) Ken Waddington who boxed for the club for several years, from 1978 through to the early 1980’s is still coaching at the Hard and Fast club, Ken is the Yorkshire Regional Coach The club has around 40 members, including 20 carded active boxers To name but a few of Fred’s achievements: 20 years of training the England School Boys, He has trained 17 National Champions. ABAE – Junior ABA – National Schools – Boys Club – Novice Champions. He has travelled to many countries from the UK with “His Boys” South Africa, Russia, Germany, France, Holland, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, to name a few.
